Tricia Dobson – Art in All Forms

Tricia is a prolific artist whose creativity spans painting, drawing, weaving, ceramics, and ephemeral works that exist only for a moment in time. She also works as a freelance arts practitioner, delivering projects both on the mainland, and across the Southern Moreton Bay Islands.

Collaboration is central to her practice. She finds inspiration in working alongside other artists, like the Canaipa Mudlines group, who venture into the bush to create works shaped directly by the environment. For Tricia, it’s about responding to place and letting the surroundings guide the art.

Living on Canaipa (Russell Island) has given her both inspiration and opportunity. She describes it as a beautiful environment with a strong, supportive community – a place where she can do more of what she loves: making art and sharing projects.

Tricia believes the arts, in all their forms, are vital for the soul. Creating, she says, is a profoundly positive act. And her message is clear: we must all value creativity, because, in her words, “it’s the main thing.”
