Desmond Kelly is a great story-teller.

This former Macleay Island resident has experienced many adventures over his 92 years, including being cast in the lead role of Hollywood movie ‘The World’s Fastest Indian’, only to have it withdrawn because the financial backers wanted a big name actor.

But his favourite memory is of flying with the great Australian aviator Sir Charles Kingsford-Smith. He even has the original ticket to prove it!
